Why I Created Wearside Worldwide

I’ve supported Sunderland AFC since 1978 I was seven years old and my Dad took me to my first match at the old stadium Roker Park.

This remains my favourite Sunderland memory.

The fact that my first match was with my Dad, I hadn’t seen anything like it, the lush green carpet of a pitch, The four towering floodlights stretching into the blue sky, and the sea of Red and White around the ground were unforgettable. I had never seen so many people gathered in one place and the noise well that was truly incredible. It’s fair to say I was hooked from my very first visit.
