Sunderland AFC have finally completed the signing of 20 year old Left Back Dayann Methalie from Toulouse after the move was put in some doubt earlier in the week.
Sunderland needed further tests on a minor lower back issue picked up during Methalie’s medical and so the player returned to France. Further tests gave Sunderland the reassurance it needed to proceed and complete the transfer at the origionally agreed fee of £24.0m with £1.7m in add ons.
He signed a long term contract thought to be 4 years with a club option of an extra year. Sunderland beat off stiff competition for the highly rated defender who will wear the number six shirt.
