Granit Xhaka is set to stay at Sunderland despite strong interest from Chelsea.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sunderland have made their stance very clear and have said their club captain is not for sale and that they would not welcome any more bids after Chelsea offered a derisory \u00a38 million.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Xhaka was interested in a potential move if an agreement could be made as he was keen to link up with Alonso his former boss at Bayer Leverkusen who is now the manager of Chelsea.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

But Xhaka has now turned down the move and stated he is happy to lead Sunderland in the upcoming season and into their first European campaign in over 50 years.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

He has reportedly informed Alonso of his decision to stay with his current club.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The news will come as a huge relief to both the club and it’s adoring fans as their captain is a vital cog in the Sunderland team both on and off the pitch.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
